Position: Interactive Media Developer

 

Position Overview

Number of weeks:                     9 weeks

Hours per week:                        20hrs 

Salary:                                        $18.00/hr

Reporting to:                             Director, Strategic Initiatives or designate

Location:                                   Virtual – anywhere in B.C.

 

This position, as a requirement of the Federal Government Summer Jobs Program, is only open to youth under 30 years of age

 

Description:  

Are you an artistically and technology minded individual with programing skills and experience?  We are looking for an individual who can work with a team to develop multi-media online eLearning core training modules for Health Care Providers working in Palliative Care.  You do not need to be a content expert, but you do need to be curious, thrive in a collaborate environment, and enjoy turning curriculum into interactive learning experiences. 

 

Who you will be working for:

 

The BC Centre for Palliative Care (BCCPC) works with partners in the health system and community to accelerate the spread of innovations and best practices in palliative care. We strive to help British Columbians affected by serious illnesses have the best possible quality of life possible, supported by care that reflects their goals and wishes.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with core training module team to conceptualize, storyboard, and create engaging learning content platform
  • Source or create images and media for the modules
  • Identify and communicate technical problems, processes, and solutions
  • Provide support in the design, development, testing, and sustainment of new and existing applications to address business needs

Education/Work Experience:  

  • Knowledge of and experience with learning management systems including Moodle, e-learning authoring tools (specifically Articulate Storyline 360), and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Experience with Graphic design
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and simply to non-technical people
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Work experience in healthcare and/or non-profit sector an asset

  • Ability to act independently and apply creative problem-solving to analyze project processes and make sound recommendations
  • Commitment to meeting timelines and project benchmarks
  • Highly developed communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment
  • The successful individual must be a self-starter and be able to work with limited supervision
  • Strong computer literacy with Office 365, online platforms such as Zoom and Teams, word-processing, spreadsheets, presentations, project management and database applications.
