St. Patrick Adult & Continuing Education

Reporting to the Principal, the casual Literacy and Basic Skills instructor provides instruction to adults using the OALCF curriculum for literacy and basic skills students.



  • Undergraduate degree minimum
  • Bachelor of Education degree preferred
  • Additional qualification courses in guidance, reading, special education and/or mathematics are an asset
  • Certificate in Adult Education or equivalent preferred
  • Experience teaching adults and a demonstrated ability to relate to a wide variety of adult learners
  • Ability to adjust the instructional style for working one-on-one with learners with various learning styles and needs
  • Seeking those with a background in mathematics, ability to teach up to grade 10 level concepts and content
  • Experience teaching literacy and academic English concepts preferred
  • Computer skills, working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint


Start Date: September 2021                                                                          Salary: $28.38/hour + 4% vacation
