MpowR provides supports to organizations and individuals in the Human Services Sector. As a non-profit charitable organization, we pride ourselves on delivering our services with integrity and a high standard of quality. We provide third party administrative support, accounting, IT, human resources, including casual staffing, professional development, clinical services and property maintenance to empower organizations to run at peak efficiency.


Program overview: The Other Side Café, a program of Unlimited Potential Community Services, is a restaurant that serves coffee, a daily special and Bubble Tea drinks in Wetaskiwin and has a 2nd Hand Clothing Section in the store. The goal of this program is to provide an environment where Adults with mental health diagnosis, can develop job skills and work experience while not being restricted by their illnesses.


Position overview: We are looking for individuals that have a passion for working with Mental Health clients. The successful candidate will provide direction, training and guidance to the clients and keep them on task while completing multiple duties of their own and maintaining cafe standards. The casual café supervisor will be completing café operational tasks, including menu planning, food preparation and cooking, customer service, cleaning and janitorial, working with money and minimal accounting. Shifts are coverage for when fulltime staff are absent due to illness or vacation.


The ideal candidate should have:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture, customs and beliefs;
  • Good understanding of mental health diagnosis and how they impact treatment approaches for adults;
  • Patience, flexibility, dependable are essential;
  • The drive to multitask, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong focus on customer service;
  • A positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and ability to be a team player;
  • Strong client relationship skills (ability to get along with all personality types);
  • Demonstrates a friendly, vibrant, sociable and understanding personality.


Qualifications/Experience: Completed High School Diploma; previous experience in restaurant or customer service would be a definite asset.


Other requirements: A clear police information check and intervention record check less than six months old.


Salary/Schedule: Salary range is $16.38 - $18.88 per hour (salary commensurate with experience).
