PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

LMCH is now actively seeking a results-driven Business Analyst to work as a member of the technical team that performs application and report development, Yardi, and SQL server data structures design analysis, and implements minor enhancements for mission critical business applications. The position will be responsible for conducting needs analysis for existing IT systems and business models, analyzing systems requirements, and implementing, configuring, and testing feasible solutions – both from conceptual and execution perspectives.

 

The role directly involves implementing development standards and methodology for our management reporting framework, optimizing our existing report solutions, developing minor application interfaces (API) to facilitate intra-systems data integration, data privacy, automation of business procedures or batch data uploads. The role further includes focusing on the organization’s management report development and distribution, including but not limited to data validation, analysis, and understanding core ERP solution data structures.

 

This position is internal customer facing and supports all the organization’s business intelligence and analytics reporting for information distribution, data quality assurance, and data consumption.  The incumbent will act as one of the primary points of contact on day‐to‐day system data and reporting queries.  Reporting directly to the Director of Finance & Corporate Services (under review), the incumbent will effectively support the company in successful implementation of its multiple operational and capital projects.

 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform detail requirements analysis and design of business systems.
  • Support the development and implementation of new systems and modifications to existing systems inclusive of procedures, applications, and reports.
  • Provide project and systems support, as well as guidance throughout the complete Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC), encompassing requirements gathering, systems design, systems development (API) programming), testing, implementation, and project management.
  • Assist in the development, testing, and implementation of new/enhanced ERP system software, to meet user requirements according to policies, procedures, and controls, changing circumstances, and existing inefficiencies.
  • Document user system requirements using structured and well-defined system methodologies in support of further solution implementation.
  • Provide application support to users and liaising where necessary with vendors as part of the problem resolution process.
  • Identify areas of the organization’s business operations that can be improved and develop workable solutions for implementation.
  • Develop queries and reports as per user specifications.
  • Ensure that change management policy and procedures are adhered to.
  • Assist in the transfer of skills gained through training and experience to other members of staff.
  • Ensure reports and/or application testing are completed according to established guidelines and that the documentation of same is maintained.
  • Comply with security measures and internal control procedures to minimize fraud, forgeries, and irrecoverable losses and reduce non-compliance.
  • Ensure that all tasks are executed in accordance with established procedures and guidelines at all times.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Studies or related discipline.
  • Professional Training and 3 years’ experience in the use of at least one modern structured systems analysis methodology.
  • Expert Knowledge of RDBMS database design techniques, developing and using complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • 3 years’ experience in the use of an Object Oriented/Based Programming language.
  • Thoroughly conversant with systems development methodology, including work experience within a project spanning the complete SDLC.
  • Conversant in Yardi ERP Systems and industry best practices.
  • Experienced in the use of current personal computer technology and software, namely Windows desktop and Server operating systems, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Visio.
  • Some exposure to networking and systems administration.
  • Organized with strong time-management skills.
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team-based setting with multi-disciplinary working groups.
  • Knowledge of current practices and program evaluation in the areas of public housing or other platforms of housing providers would be considered an asset.

POLICE RECORDS CHECK

This position requires the successful candidate submit a current Police Records check from their local police service. A current LMCH employee who is the successful candidate for this position must also provide this document unless it is already on file and not more than one year old.

 

SALARY & BENEFITS

 

Competitive annual salary with comprehensive health benefits and a defined benefit pension plan. Normal working hours are 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Monday to Friday, with some work required outside of this schedule from time to time.
