We're seeking a caring, client-centred, and results-oriented individual to help migrant workers, clients, to increase their knowledge of their rights.

 

POSITION:         Program Support Worker

 

DEPARTMENT:  Family and Settlement Services

 

POSITION FUNCTION:

Under the supervision of the Manager, Migrant Workers Program, the Program Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and clerical program support for MOSAIC Migrant Workers Programs in Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have a working knowledge of temporary foreign workers and international students
  • Certificate (and/or appropriate combination of courses and/or experience) in Office Technology and knowledge of spreadsheet and database software applications
  • Strong working knowledge of standard office equipment, word processing software and internet use
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and privacy of client information
  • Experience with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, emailing, minute - taking, pre-meeting and post-meeting tasks, and storing/tracking of contracts, reports, social media
  • Have the ability to speak, read and write in fluent English, a secondary language will be considered an asset
  • Experience in dealing with administrative procedures
  • Empathetic, respectful and discrete; remains tactful and patient during stressful situations
  • Highly organized and flexible
  • Have understanding of social justice issues in a community setting
  • Possess knowledge of temporary foreign workers and international students
  • Have strong cross-cultural support skills
  • Have experience working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check

HOURS: 35 hours per week

 

STARTING PAY: $20.01 to $22.81 per hour (depending on experience)

 

TTERM: September 27 to December 15, 2021

 

DEADLINE:          September 17, 2021 (or until a suitable candidate is hired)
