About the Position:

The S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Help Lines Program Coordinator oversees the daily operation of the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Help Lines and works closely with the Program Officer to maintain the service quality and further develop this program. This role also works extensively with a network of volunteers which supports the program and the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. agency. 

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position is responsible for the recruitment, development, training, and performance of volunteers and the Program Officer 

Reports to: Director of Integrated Services for Newcomers 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the operations of the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Help Lines Program 
  • Ensures all services meet the accreditation standards
  • Networks and promotes the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Help Lines Program via media and other channels such as community meetings, functions, or events 
  • Liaises and works with community agencies
  • Represents S.U.C.C.E.S.S. in media functions/media interviews
  • Attends external meetings and conferences 
  • Recruits, plans, and provides training to new volunteers 
  • Provides ongoing support and supervision to volunteers 
  • Liaises with volunteers and channels information through the volunteer network
  • Provides briefing for returning volunteers
  • Meets with volunteers to discuss service improvement and on identifying needs of the volunteers
  • Analysis the trends of the service needs
  • Writes and compiles reports relevant to the Help Lines Program 
  • Performs administration duties pertaining to managing the Help Lines Program 
  • Maintains up-to-date records such as statistics, funding applications/reports, and program development reports 
  • Supervises and manages the work of the Program Officer 
  • Attends and hosts staff team meetings and/or training sessions 
  • Works closely with other U.C.C.E.S.S. divisions/offices in providing comprehensive support to our clients 
  • Provides support to agency wide fundraising initiatives
  • Other related duties as required by the Director of Integrated Services for Newcomers 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or Social Sciences 
  • Community project coordination experience is an asset 
  • Experience in delivering counselling services 
  • Experience in group facilitation (in-person and/or virtual)
  • Experience in conducting community outreach
  • Experience in volunteer management
  • Knowledge of the not-for-profit sector
  • Knowledge of community services and resources

Other Requirements:

  • Able to work evenings and/or weekends as required
  • Able to travel within the Greater Vancouver area as required
