Community Based Victim Service Worker/ SKY Coordinator

23.5 hours per week (18.5 hours Victim Service; 5 hours SKY Coordinator)

Live and work in beautiful Kaslo, BC

As the Community Based Victim Services Worker and SKY Coordinator, you will provide emotional support, referrals and legal information to victims of intimate violence, and other types of criminal violence. You will work closely with members of the counselling team, referring agencies and community partners. Clinical supervision will be provided

Preferred Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or equivalent in training and experience.
  • Experience working in areas of intimate violence, abuse, sexual assault especially within the context of victims/survivors in the legal and medical systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of the impact of biases respecting race, class, sex, gender, sexual orientation, dis/abilities is essential.
  • Excellent written and communication skills and experience with case management
  • Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to foster team participation and contribute to the goals and activities of NKLCSS and the objectives of the contract funders.
  • Ability to manage change effectively
  • Ability to provide service remotely when needed
