PCRS is the host agency, and in partnership with Foundry BC, we are developing Foundry Surrey. Foundry Surrey will be a place where youth, ages 12-24, find youth-friendly, welcoming and appropriate services. Foundry Surrey will provide core services to support the wellness of youth and families of Surrey: primary care, mental health supports, substance use services, social services and peer supports.  

Position Summary:

Foundry Surrey is seeking an experienced fundraiser for a contract position supporting the Foundry Surrey capital campaign. The Fund Development Coordinator is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive development plan that reflects and supports the Mission and Goals for Foundry Surrey and drives revenue for a new Foundry location in Surrey. 

The Fund Development Coordinator will develop a comprehensive fund development plan for the agency with a specific goal of meeting an established target within the Foundry Surrey capital campaign. In addition, they will be responsible for creating a critical 12-month path to success with key dates, milestones and progress reports to communicate back to the Foundry Manager and Director of Operations.

Primary Duties:

  • Develops and executes strategies to actively identify, cultivate, solicit and steward corporate, foundation and individual prospects in support of campaign fundraising goals
  • Researches and writes proposals to potential funders that will assist in realizing the capital plan
  • Works with the established Case for Support and adapt for a range of audiences, including donors, key stakeholders and the community
  • Researches and maintains a donor prospect list and active pipeline of quality prospects with tailored cultivation and solicitation strategies
  • Facilities and participates indirect requests for financial support
  • Develops various payment vehicles and donor recognition strategies, ensuring donors are properly recognized for their support
  • Develops and maintains a donor database and proper donor records
  • Coordinates and facilitates events and meetings to introduce potential donors to the Society and capital campaign project
  • Acts as a local liaison and public face for the Society and capital campaign as directed/required
  • Develops strong, collaborative relationships with Foundry BC central office staff, local partners, youth and families, and other members of the Foundry provincial network
  • Collaborates with Foundry Surrey on various advisory committees and social media platforms
  • Takes meeting minutes and tracks action items associated with committee work
  • Prepares and submits project interim and final reports, write policy briefs and working papers, synthesizes study findings, evaluates progress and provides similar documents related to project activity
  • Other related duties as required

Academic and Job Experience Required:

B.A. or a degree in a related field. Extensive field experience and/or a combination of relevant life experience will be taken into consideration.


Basic Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary, cross-sectoral environment involving government, health, non-profit and client stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of fundraising readiness and execution
  • Demonstrated competency with donor management systems
  • Demonstrated experience in project and budget management
  • Competent in event planning and management
  • Graphic design and web management abilities an asset
  • Experience developing and presenting briefing materials for senior management, including but not limited to reports, briefing notes and presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information and prepare policy documents, planning documents and project proposals for a variety of audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as in teams
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present and clarify requirements, expectations, ideas and concepts to staff, community members and service providers

 Desired Requirements:

  • Capital campaign and/or major gifts fundraising experience an asset
