Contract length: 12 to 15 weeks

Hours: 15 hours per week (part-time)


The Roberta Bondar Foundation, an educational and environmental charity, requires one youth working from their home office to assist with fundraising tasks on a part-time basis. Candidates with fundraising and nonprofit experience preferred. Strong communication skills, clerical experience and attention to detail are required. Must have access to a computer, internet and telephone.


This is a Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) funded position, which requires candidates to:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

  • Assist with preparing and sending individual donor solicitation packages, thank you letters and other communications.     
  • Research potential sponsors and grants. Draft submission content and track status of grants. Contact select funders to confirm eligibility, deadlines and conduct follow-up.
  • Assist with the planning and promotion of a virtual event, including the acquirement of auction items.
  • Additional tasks as required, including social media.
