Located on the traditional Dakelh territory, home of the Lheidli T'enneh Nation, the Maintenance team at BC Housing in the Northern Region supports the maintenance requirements of buildings across the region. This team plays an integral role in ensuring buildings owned and operated directly through BC Housing, including those operated by non-profit providers, meet the codes and standards set by the Province.
Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance, the Maintenance Worker performs general and emergency maintenance and repair duties for Commission-owned properties, including those operated by non-profit housing providers. This work includes performing electrical maintenance and repairs, the repair and replacement of plumbing fixtures and hardware, general carpentry work and exterior repairs, in addition to HVAC, equipment and appliance repairs.
As the position is focused on providing maintenance support to Prince George, BC, once training in all aspects of the job is completed, the Maintenance Worker will be Mobile, conducting the necessary maintenance and repairs across the region.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Performs Maintenance and Repair duties:
Performs exterior repairs and maintenance such as cleaning gutters and debris from roofs, minor roof repairs, replacing shingles, flashing repairs and emergency patching and caulking, snaking drains with power augers and repairing and constructing fences, gates and concrete sidewalks, patios and ramps.
Performs routine repairs and maintenance to appliances and equipment.
Performs routine repairs and maintenance to HVAC equipment.
