Title: Human Resources Assistant (Contract until March 31, 2022)
Location: Guelph, ON
Hours: 80 Hours Biweekly
Hopewell is a not-for-profit registered charity governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We were established in Ariss, Ontario in 1983 by John and Johanna Oosterhuis.
Hopewell provides high-quality personal care for children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities and complex needs, as well as support for their families.
Our unique culture and well-deserved reputation for extraordinary staff and exceptional care have allowed Hopewell to expand to seven locations, meeting the needs of over 500 families throughout Wellington County.
Under the guidance of the Director, People & Culture and through active participation with the Human Resources team and leadership team, the Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for helping support recruitment and selection and other HR functions for the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
The HR Assistant will work as an active member of the Human Resources team providing support for the following:
Recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and training
Developing orientation and other training materials
Coordination of student and volunteer placements
HR administration including, but not limited to: filing, data entry for the HRIS (ADP), generating report writing
Gathering and reporting on HR related statistical data
Health & Safety initiatives
The HR Assistant is required to act with a high degree of integrity, upholding high standards of confidentiality and diplomacy.
Special Hiring Considerations
A University or College Degree/Diploma in Human Resources Management (or in the process of obtaining said Degree/Diploma).
A CHRP designation is an asset.
Experience with recruitment and HR administration
Experience working in the Developmental Services Sector is an asset.
Valid G Driver’s license and ability to travel as needed
