Position/Poste: Job Retention Specialist
 
Duties/Fonctions:
  • Accept referrals and review the client plan/documentation as provided by the Vocational Rehabilitation Specialists (VRS) and Employer & Client Coordinators (ECC);
  • Provide services to adults who have disabilities and are challenged by employment barriers; 
  • In conjunction with the VRS and ECC, implement on-the-job training programs with the employer, ensuring necessary progression and documentation;
  • Provide job placement services including job development, coordination of on the job supports, job site analysis and job accommodation;
  • In conjunction with the employer, implement necessary work accommodations;
  • Monitor and support clients during job maintenance/sustainment to achieve long term employment;
  • Provide direct support of clients and employers as necessary, including job coaching and support services to clients;
  • Conduct assessments of potential employers to ensure they meet the necessary work standards for our clients, including; a safe work environment, OH&S requirements; reputable business practices and an understanding of work with persons with disabilities;
  • Provide employment and motivational counseling;
  • Case manage services to ensure timely and cost-effective service delivery;
  • Complete required service reports;
  • Achieve quality service standards for client satisfaction, timely delivery of service and employment outcomes
 
Qualifications/Compétences requises:
  • Post-Secondary Degree, Certificate or Diploma in a relevant field, as well as demonstrated experience as noted in the posting;
  • Holds an associated relevant professional certification (Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Professional [CVRP] or Certified Career Development Practitioner [CCDP]); OR able to achieve one of these designations within one year.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting and interpreting client needs assessments; coaching and mentoring clients; Experience in providing client services to people with disabilities; 
  • Knowledge of government and local employment systems for employment supports for persons with disabilities; Knowledge of private sector and labor market trends;
  • Sensitivity to issues/barriers that people with disabilities experience;
  • Well-developed time management, problem solving, organizational and teamwork skills;
  • Effective negotiation skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, sales and customer service skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work well under pressure;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe software;
  • Ability to document, maintain records and assist in reports;
  • Familiarity with Integrated Case Management (ICM) considered an asset;
  • Ability to communicate in both official languages considered an asset; and 
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
 
Salary Range/Échelle des salaires: $54,072 annually
