Edmonton Down Syndrome Society is seeking a Physiotherapist to join our team of contract therapists

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work independently
  • reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Actively listen and respond to client and or family needs
  • Perform assessments, provide appropriate treatment based on best practice guidelines
  • Provide ongoing and timely evaluation of client progress
  • Provide complete and timely treatment documentation and consultation notes
  • Work as a collaborative member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Registered and in good standing with the PACA or CPA
  • Be committed to a model that values family-centered care
  • Participate in quality initiatives and program development

Qualifications

  • Completion of master's degree in physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with Physiotherapy Alberta College + Association.
  • Three + years of direct experience.
  • Active or eligible registration and practice permit with Physiotherapy Alberta College + Association.
  • Understanding of the Pyramid of Intervention (the integration of broad-based supports/strategies, as well as small group and individual strategies are critical
  • Very strong assessment and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective decision making and leadership qualities.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate accountability to the board and program director.
  • Worked with all ages and persons with disabilities (persons with Down syndrome would be an asset).
  • Prior to employment, successful candidates will be required to submit Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check documents.
  • Candidates must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
