Weekend Overnight Shift Supervisor

 

Part - Time Position

Days of work: Saturday – Sunday + Stat holidays

Hours of work: 12am – 8am

Compensation: DOE + paid training and upgrading

 

St. Leonard’s Society of North Vancouver is a 14 bed community residential facility (halfway house) that provides community reintegration services and residential drug and alcohol treatment to men returning to the community following a period of Federal or Provincial incarceration.

 

 

Skills and Qualifications:

 

·         Certificate or 2 years’ experience in related field

·         Ability to obtain Enhanced Reliability Clearance from Corrections of Canada (fingerprints and credit check will be required)

·         Demonstrated ability to engage and work effectively with Federal/Provincial offenders

  • Knowledge of and experience in the field of Substance Abuse and Mental Health
  • Ability to understand the dynamics of offender’s behaviour and assess their

needs and risks.

  • Skills to understand the use of authority in supervision and to intervene

effectively in crisis situations

  • Ability to understand cultural differences
  • Computer literate in Word Applications
  • Valid Emergency First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Experience working with First Nations people and having an intimate familiarity with First Nations culture, tradition, and ceremony would be an asset.
  • Proficiency in Offender Management System (OMS) would be an asset, but the employer will provide training offered by the Correctional Service of Canada to a suitable candidate.
