About the Position:


The ACT Best Practices Coordinator provides support to each Immigrant Settlement and Integration Program (ISIP) Contribution Agreement that includes the Action Commitment Transformation (ACT) Program. This position ensures that services are applying and practicing current and emerging best practices across the IRCC service streams. The position is responsible to develop current service models to meet emerging multi-barriered client needs, compliant with contract, agency and accreditation standards, and supported by training and ongoing coaching for staff.  The ACT Best Practices Coordinator also assists with the evaluation and analysis of service delivery, service models, and client flows, and makes recommendations for service development. 


Reports to: Program Director


Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supports ACT staff to deliver services in accordance with current and emerging best practice standards of settlement services to multi-barriered families, adults and youth
  • Researches and prepares information on best practices and core competencies to strengthen program delivery for multi-barriered clients in order to ensure high service outcomes and quality that are consistent with IRCC, agency, and accreditation standards and emerging multi-barriered client needs
  • Supports ACT frontline staff with service coaching to ensure high level of service delivery through a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive lenses
  • Assists with the development and coordination of core and additional professional development training for ACT staff to ensure service delivery excellence
  • Researches and prepares information relating to immigration and settlement trends, including multi-barriered newcomer mental health and wellness in BC and Canada
  • Collects, collates and assists with the reporting of programming data
  • Develops partnerships with training and best practice experts in the areas of settlement, diversity and inclusion, crisis intervention, and mental health & wellness
  • Supports evaluation and analysis of service delivery, service models, service activities, and client flows, and makes recommendations to improve services in order to, more effectively and efficiently, serve multi-barriered clients to achieve settlement outcomes
  • Performs other related assignments as required by the Program Director

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate degree in social work, counselling or in a related field 
  • Relevant work experience working with multi-barriered individuals  
  • Training in Trauma-Informed and Anti-Oppressive Practices is an asset 
  • Knowledge of settlement service delivery models and terminology 
  • Knowledge of adult education methodologies

  • Excellent interpersonal, organization and administrative skills
  • Ability to understand contract management systems
  • Ability to handle concurrent assignments and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and within a team context
  • Excellent computer skills in all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Occasional travelling is required
  • Able to work evenings and weekends as required
