This role provides supervision, support and oversight to counselling/therapy programs for children, adolescents and families.
This is a permanent full-time role.
Strides Toronto is a multi-service agency providing services to young people from birth to age 29 and their families in East Toronto. Formed in January 2020 through the amalgamation of Aisling Discoveries and East Metro Youth Services, Strides Toronto provides a range of community, residential and treatment services to improve the mental, social, and physical health of infants, children, youth and their families. We provide individual, group and family interventions that include mental health counselling, autism services, education, outreach and referral, early intervention, day treatment and community support.
As Lead Agency for infant, child and youth mental health in Toronto, Strides Toronto works with 25 core service providers to design and implement system-level improvements that transform access to services, experience of services and the mental health outcomes for Toronto’s diverse communities.
Strides Toronto has a budget of $30 million and more than 350 employees providing services out of 19 locations across East Toronto. The organization Is accredited by the Centre for Accreditation and the predecessor organizations have a long history of providing high-quality services in East Toronto.

What will you do?
- Provide clinical oversight to ensure high quality mental health service delivery for the clients referred to the counselling/therapy programs
- Build an effective, efficient, responsive clinical team that demonstrates commitment to the organization’s values/philosophy, continuous learning innovation, quality improvement and embrace change with a growth mindset,
- Foster staff development and knowledge in client and family engagement and commitment skills, case formulations, client goals, treatment plans, theoretical frameworks and strategies.
- Develop, enhance, innovate and implement the agency’s counselling programs
- Organize and liaise with external consultants to provide additional clinical consultation to the team
- Support therapists in individual or family sessions/case conferences
- Provide oversight to the program to ensure legislative and ministry requirements are met .
- Monitor caseload, data entry, client length of service and performance to ensure Ministry standards.
- Support resolution of client/family complaints
- Develop staff engagement and team building activities
- Facilitate regular meetings with community partners, including child welfare agencies and school board to identify issues and gaps in services and work collaboratively to address and resolve service gaps.
What are we looking for?
- Master’s degree in social work, counselling, psychology or a mental health / counselling related field
- 5 years of related experience
- 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Registered in good standing with a regulated professional college
- Eligible to provide clinical supervision to a team of psychotherapists and social workers
- Expertise in delivering trauma supports and evidence-informed practices (CBT, DBT, group facilitation)
- Expertise in Anti-racism/Anti-oppressive practices
- Knowledge of needs assessment, quality improvement and evaluation.
- Skilled in developing treatment plans and referrals
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Excellent organizational skills, leadership, team building skills
- Ability to manage workload pressures as they arise.
- Knowledge of community/partners
- Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of the community served by the organization.
- Commitment to fostering a positive work environment.
- Fluency in another language(s).
