Position Type:
Part-time contract (January 3, 2022 - March 31, 2023); 15 hours per week at Mission Possible’s office (flexible, some in-person hours are required, but remote also available)


Position Summary:

The Housing Support Coordinator will work directly alongside participants in Mission Possible Employment Readiness Program to provide additional support around finding and applying for housing. This position also involves building partnerships with key housing stakeholders in the community, social housing research, impact assessments, and report writing. A vulnerable sector background check will be required; cost will be covered.


The Housing Support Coordinator will:

  • Meet one-on-one with participants and let them lead with their own housing questions
  • Provide support in application process, phone calls, filling out forms, etc.
  • Provide support to help participants that experience barriers navigating the social housing system
  • Accompany participants off-site to meetings or appointments as needed
  • Build and expand Mission Possible’s partnerships with housing providers, agencies, and stakeholders in the community
  • Research latest developments in social housing and provide up-to-date resources to participants
  • Conduct surveys, impact assessments, and write reports to develop best practices for supporting participants who are at-risk for homelessness

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
  • Experience with outreach and community engaged research is an asset
  • Availability to work between Monday and Friday from 9 am-3 pm
  • Experience working with the DTES community is an asset
  • Experience working with individuals who experience barriers to housing is an asset
  • Knowledge of Vancouver’s social housing system is an asset
