Catholic Family Services of Hamilton (CFS) is a nonprofit, multi-service agency providing counselling, case management, education and support to families, couples and individuals living in Hamilton, Halton and the surrounding area. In the Intake Coordinator role, you will be responsible for the initial contact with all potential clients of the agency for all programs which includes but is not limited to Individual and Family Counselling, Credit Counselling, Anti-Violence Intervention and Prevention and Seniors at Risk.

 

Assessing and screening clients you will explore, in a sensitive manner, the nature of the request for service and match clients with the appropriate program or staff. You will book appointments for clients and schedule appointments in the counsellors’ calendars. In cases where our agency does not offer the required service, you will make referrals to other programs, agencies or community resources.

 

As an Intake Coordinator, you must be available to work one late shift, 11 am to 7 pm, on Tuesdays. You will provide backup reception coverage for short periods when needed. Updating and maintaining documentation in the data base and inputting statistical data is a crucial component of this role.

 

This position requires a highly organized, self-directed, and detail-oriented individual with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and equivalent work experience. You have knowledge and understanding of community resources and services and can work independently in a fast-paced environment.

 

You have outstanding communication and customer service skills; you excel in empathic and active listening skills and understand the responsibility regarding confidentiality and boundaries. You are proficient at timely and accurate client documentation and managing reports and statistical information. Proficiency in French language is an asset.
