The Lower Mainland Purpose Society: Purpose Secondary School has the following position available:  

Position:            Administrative Liaison / Student Services

Hours per week:         28 hours/week – 11 month position

Duties:

  • Ensures School Information systems are set up each school year and kept up to date primarily through MyEducationBC (MyEd)
  • Assists Administration with the development of the School Timetable (two semesters) each year including class lists & individual student schedules
  • Process new student registrations through MyEd
  • Maintain and add new demographic information on MyEd
  • Maintain Special Education designations in consultation with Principal and Counsellor
  • Maintain student attendance records
  • Maintain and update student records with Counsellor
  • Request student records
  • Provide reports to the Ministry of Education through MyEd as required such as 1701, Trax reporting, ES audit and End of Year Rollover
  • Sets up Report Cards on MyEd
  • Enter Final Marks and Graduate Students
  • Participate in Graduation Ceremony planning and process
  • Register and set up required Provincial Literacy and Numeracy Assessments
  • Process unofficial transcript requests and respond to other inquiries from previous students
  • Liaise with parents/guardians as required
  • Sends correspondence at Principal’s request to parents/guardians
  • Completes other tasks as requested by Principal

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an office environment with responsibility for office operational systems
  • Experience working in a high school office environment is an asset
  • Experience with the Grade 8 to Grade 12 B.C. Educational System is an asset
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and My Education BC.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to multi-task in a busy work environment
  • Clear understanding of and adherence to professional boundaries

In addition, must be willing to procure Emergency First Aid Certificate and clear criminal record check.
