Title: Family Support Worker – Fathers Moving Forward

Do you feel passionate about helping young fathers/father figures be positive role models in the lives of their children?
We are seeking a passionate, innovative, energetic individual that believes in the importance and value fathers play in assisting their children to grow and develop. This role uses a Case Management approach to supporting young fathers to be the best dads they can be. This role meets with clients individually and facilitates various psychoeducational groups. This position reports to the Supervisor, Early Parenthood Supports.
•Skilled in client engagement, assessment, group facilitation, program planning, case management and crisis management;
•Knowledge of infant and early childhood mental health and development, positive parenting practices, domestic violence, child maltreatment and substance abuse;
•Knowledge of Trauma-informed practice, Systems theory and working through a family lens;
•Experience and knowledge of working with young adults, especially young fathers and young mothers;
•Financial Literacy and/or parenting program training is an asset;
•Strong team work; willingness to learn; effective time management and organizational skills;
•Familiarity with using computerized tools (e.g., zoom, MS teams, databases) for communication and case management;
•Experience with quality assurance, data management, program outcome measurements and evaluation, and co-creation of reports;
•Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends;
•A posture of cultural humility in working with diverse populations; experience with Indigenous and/or Immigrant families is an asset;
•Lived experience parenting an asset.
•Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related Human Services field or a diploma with experience aligned with the position;
•Alberta Family Wellness Initiative’s Brain Story Certification required;
•Child intervention and Criminal Record Checks;
•Eligible and in good standing with professional governing body (where applicable);
•Valid driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract and use of a vehicle with appropriate insurance;
