Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) has an opening for an ASL Interpreter based in Mississauga. Reporting to the Manager, Professional Practice, the ASL Interpreter will provide confidential interpreting services between American Sign Language (ASL) and English language users in-person and/or via video in a variety of settings, which include community, medical, mental health, and emergency events.

 

This is a full-time permanent position, with working hours of Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

 

As an active member of the Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters (CASLI) you hold a 3–4-year post-secondary diploma/degree from an accredited program. You have a minimum of 3 years of interpreting experience combined with excellent language fluency in both ASL and ENG, with the ability to match the diverse language use of consumers. You also take pride in providing exceptional quality service while always maintaining strict confidentiality and following best practices and protocols.
