The Pacific Association of First Nations Women has an exciting opportunity for a reliable and self-starting individual to join our language team. This is a part-time position with all hours to be worked at our office (All activities will be facilitated under stringent health & safety protocols regarding Covid-19).
Reporting to the Language Program Coordinator, the Language Program Operations Assistant will carry out duties including, but not limited to the following list below:


● Support the Language Program Coordinator and Digitization Technician with day-to-day operations.● Develop, maintain, and build positive relations with the project team and external partners
● Develop, digitize, catalogue, archive and upload Language Program resources including digital and print curriculum, videos, and audio recordings
● Support the Language Program Team in creation of Cree and Ojibway Curriculum Workbooks and corresponding audio recordings
● Assist Language Program Coordinator and Digitization Technician in the production, filming and editing of Language Program videos
● Upload language resources to PAFNW’s YouTube and FirstVoices.com online archive when directed to do so.
● Zoom administrator of online classes, workshops, and events:
     ● Record and catalogue videos of online class sessions
     ● Screenshare curriculum workbook
     ● Provide tech support to Instructors & students as needed
● Support Language Program Coordinator with ongoing administrative and operational tasks
● Manage student and participant applications and onboarding
● Support the Language Program Coordinator in monitoring the program work plan to ensure project deliverables are on target
● Draft and respond to administrative emails and oversee the main PAFNW Languages email
● Submit monthly reports to Language Program Coordinator
● Create email newsletter templates and assist in sending E-newsletters
● Create digital and print media including event/promotional posters
● Create surveys and compile results via Google Forms and Survey Monkey
● Other related duties


Qualifications, Job Skills and Abilities:


● Experienced in office procedures, MS Office Suite (advanced Excel), Zoom, desktop publishing applications, and Canva
● Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study preferred or 3 years of relevant work experience
● Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills including resolving conflicts
● Excellent organizational and file management skills
● Ability to exercise mature judgement and initiative
● Ability to lead and take direction, as well as be a team player
● Ability to handle confidential/sensitive material with discretion
● Experience working with Indigenous families, traditional teachers, and mentors.
● Driver’s License an asset
● Knowledge of Cree and/or Ojibway language, culture, and traditions an asset
● Film production and/or editing experience as asset

Rate of Pay: Up to $23.50 per hour, benefits after 3 months successful probation.
