What you will do:

As a Program Facilitator, you will oversee a program from start to finish, including:

  • Program design – working with our Skills Program Coordinator to refine the design of the Technology Foundations for Indigenous People program, resulting in a culturally relevant and engaging program (In other words: the program is awesome)
  • Community building, Marketing & Intake – actively engaging the community to build relationships and ensure we recruit the most appropriate participants.
  • Participant support – supporting participants to overcome the challenges they encounter throughout a program.
  • Administration and reporting – ensure all administrative elements of the program delivery are conducted and tracking of program outcomes happens in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Employer networking – assist Employment Facilitator with making connections to companies that can provide work experience for participants.

You will provide key oversight for the new Indigenous Tech training program launching in Fall 2022. You will also contribute to other employment training programs, such as Compass and Trades.

 

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an Indigenous professional who has the qualities and experience below:

  • Understanding of Indigenous culture and protocols, and ability to engage respectfully with elders.
  • Consistent, reliable, hard-working; you have a strong internal motivation.
  • Deep understanding of the challenges faced by Indigenous learners, and an ability to coach people through those challenges to succeed in the program.
  • You can work and walk within Western and Indigenous contexts.
  • Experience in overseeing a program and supporting Indigenous learners to succeed is a strong asset.
  • You are a life-long learner who knows what it takes to be successful in a learning environment.
  • Ability to engage with Indigenous and non-Indigenous learners.
  • Interest in the technology sector.
  • Injects fun into their work.
  • Friendly and empathetic. Able to connect deeply and supportively with learners who have barriers.
  • Comfortable using a computer and MS Office.
