DIGITAL INCLUSION PROJECT COORDINATOR

Role Summary

The Lower Mainland Purpose Society is looking for a Project Coordinator to coordinate the New Westminster Digital Inclusion Project.  The project aims to promote digital inclusion across diverse community groups through the following three pillars: a) device availability; b) internet access; c) engagement, education, and training.  The Project Coordinator will work with community partners and Program Ambassadors to continue to establish, implement, and evaluate the Digital Inclusion Project. 

Duties and Responsibilities

⬜   Consult with community partners to develop program model

⬜   Recruit and train community partners to act as Program Ambassadors

⬜   Provide ongoing technical support to Program Ambassadors and Clients

⬜   Coordinate and keep record of Program Ambassador schedule

⬜   Develop simple evaluation tools, and collect participant responses

⬜   Develop marketing tools to advertise program broadly

⬜   Establish drop in hours, and coordinate training sessions

⬜   Respond to program inquiries and build community relationships

⬜   Work in partnership with existing IT-based programs to provide comprehensive services

Qualifications

  • Education, or equivalent experience providing accessible IT services
  • Current knowledge of the local street community, community resources, and knowledge of cultural norms related to drug use and homelessness considered an asset

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible Intern participants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada;
  • Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada; as well as;
  • Must not be in receipt of employment benefits (EI/CERB) during the internship

 

Hours of Work

6 hours per day, 3 days per week.  Some evening and weekend work may be required.
