Change Management Consultant

full time - term / contract  •  $ 10,000 plus tax

The successful candidate will have extensive experience consulting with women’s organizations and nonprofits, including national virtual cloud-based organizations, in areas of strategy, board governance, organizational design and related operational and structural activities. The candidate will be familiar with nonprofit restructuring and reorganization, and have worked extensively with different types of boards and with diverse board members and teams. 

Additionally, the successful candidate will:

  • Research and analyze WEC’s organizational background and current structural arrangements to better understand WEC’s contributions to its ecosystems and intersectional women’s communitie. 
  • Strengthen WEC’s management and board, national and regional work, coordination, internal communications and accountability.

 

Required qualifications

  • Extensive experience working with nonprofit boards and operations teams;
  • Experience working with women, equity seeking groups/individuals, and/or women’s organizations that value feminist principles and ways of working;
  • Superior interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (verbal & non-verbal);
  • Significant understanding of the nonprofit digital space and WEC’s presence as a national virtual organization;
  • Logical and systematic approach to problem solving, financial management and analytical tasks, rooted in evidence and verifiable experience;
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines;
  • Superior ability to work with a team in different time zones, and to work under stress;
  • Diligence and punctuality;
  • Appropriate educational background and/or experience in nonprofit management, policy development, or other relevant field;. 
  • Bilingual English/French is considered a significant asset.

Expected Deliverables

  • A detailed report on the current roles, responsibilities and functioning of the board and management;
  • Recommendations for improvements, together with suggested policies,  procedures,  new structures or innovations that align with WEC’s  exponential growth as a national feminist organization, while staying true to WEC’s values, goals and objectives.
  • Work plans, including transition plans with milestone and other key tools, resources and best practices that not only support WEC’s daily needs and efficient functioning, but also foster innovation and ‘out of the box’ thinking as an integral part of WEC’s routine approach to its work.  

 Completion Date

  • Deliverables will be provided four weeks from the contract start date

 

Working Conditions 

  • While there will be a specific WEC contact person or people, the successful candidate will be working remotely with minimal supervision. A number of virtual ‘in-person’ meetings will be required with members of WEC board and management.

Compensation 

  • This is a contract position. The total value of  the contract is $ 10,000 plus tax.

  • As soon as possible
