Parkdale Queen West Community Health Centre (Parkdale Queen West CHC) is a dynamic, community-based health care organization serving mid-west downtown Toronto. Offering a broad range of services, including primary health care, dental care, harm reduction, health promotion, counselling, and community development programming, we are also committed to serving people who face barriers to health care, and we strive to reduce these barriers. PQWCHC is a multi-sited organization.

Reporting to the Manager, Clinical and Allied Health Team, The Chiropodist works to enhance the foot health of homeless and under housed youth, adults, and seniors by providing direct foot care, surgical procedures, and health promotion services as part of the homeless, harm reduction and primary care teams and programs.

General Responsibilities

  1. Provides direct foot care and health promotion services, including surgical procedures to homeless/under-housed seniors, adults, and youth.
  2. Works closely with staff to provide foot care within a broader multi-disciplinary team.
  3. May provide services at designated outreach locations in the community.
  4. Maintains required records, reports and statistics including supplies inventory.



  1. Graduate of a recognized college of Podiatry/Chiropody with license to practice by the College of Chiropodists in Ontario.
  2. Full licence, including soft tissue, anaesthetic, and pharmacology.
  3. Demonstrated ability to make orthotics.
  4. Experience in community-based practice and work with marginalized populations.
  5. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  6. Ability to work in a flexible manner which will ensure client access to service.
  7. Good organizational and time management skills.
  8. Ability to speak a second language, preferably Mandarin or Portuguese is an asset


Compensation: $63,364 to $74,056 per annum (to be pro-rated to 0.6 FTE or 3 days a week), plus Group Benefits and HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan)
