Position Overview: 

The Fund Development and Stewardship Coordinator contributes to the success of fundraising initiatives by coordinating CCS’ annual direct response campaigns, generating and overseeing third party campaigns, providing administrative support for fund development initiatives through Donor Perfect database management and gift processing, and providing stewardship services that enhance donor relations. This position also trains and supervises summer and employment placement students and volunteers and acts as the initial point of contact for inquiries regarding fundraising initiatives.

 

Position Deliverables/Accountabilities:

Under the general direction of the Chief Development Officer or designate, the incumbent will:    

  • Implement and manage annual multi-channeled direct response campaigns (direct mail, on-line giving, social media and events) through research, planning and performing administrative, logistical, and donor stewardship tasks;
  • Implement and manage an In Honour/In Memory Donor Program;
  • Support signature events, third party events and annual programs in accordance with the timelines and criteria outlined in the annual Fundraising Plan;
  • Maintain regular communication with and provides direction to Marketing and Communications and Finance & Infrastructure colleagues on matters pertaining to campaigns, donations, data, and customer service;
  • Maintain Donor Perfect database to support CCS fundraising and donor relations strategies, including appreciation and sponsor fulfillment;
  • Train staff, volunteers, and students in use of same;
  • Ensure that donations are appropriately, accurately and securely received, recorded, and acknowledged in a timely manner, consistent with all policy and regulatory requirements;
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive data for audit purposes;
  • Monitor and maintain various fundraising program budgets and pulls monthly statistical data for Board reports;
  • Attend events, organizes stewardship presentations, promotional, and public awareness activities as required; Other duties as assigned.

Qualification Criteria:

  • Minimum 2 year college diploma in relevant field (i.e. fundraising, marketing, communications) or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • 2-3 years related experience in fundraising, marketing and/or communications;
  • Project management experience, event planning experience and volunteer management experience are assets;
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with the rules and regulations governing Canadian charities and fundraising best practices;
  • A strong familiarity with Caledon and surrounding area;
  • Proficiency with fundraising database applications (Donor Perfect an asset);
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc);
  • Social media knowledge, ability and activity;
  • Project management skills;
  • Effective communicator; Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent customer service skills when interacting with donors, event attendees, community members, sponsors, etc;
  • Ability to multitask and deal with frequent interruptions while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy; Creative and innovative;
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to be thorough and organized;
  • Passionate about helping others; Passion for supporting the Mission, Vision and Values of CCS;
  • Demonstrated self-discipline and self-motivation, ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Strong ethical character capable of handling donations and confidential and financial information;
  • Access to a vehicle, valid driver’s license and insurance; Satisfactory Criminal Records Check;
