Be the Choice is a not-for-profit organization changing the way breast cancer diagnoses are experienced and treatment options are understood. Be the Choice has developed an online decision tree that gives patients and others access to medical information that is easy to understand, and which comprehensively covers all treatment path-ways.
Be the Choice is looking for an experienced, highly motivated communications/ marketing professional with a minimum of 2-3 years hands-on experience, who can develop, manage and execute integrated marketing processes. This is a 12-month contract position with the potential for renewal.
The ideal candidate will be able to:
Increase the digital footprint for Be the Choice among target audiences across social media, e-mail and other online platforms.
Increase the user engagement with the decision support tool.
Support ongoing relationships in the breast cancer and broader cancer community.
Pay: $25/ hour for approximately 7-10 hours weekly; Special events will require flexibility to work additional hours.
Draw attention to Be the Choice’s cancer decision support tool (Decision Tree)
Maintain, evolve and execute a social media/marketing plan which encompasses:
Coordinate and manage social media profiles and increase social media engagement.
Develop, execute and evaluate effective integrated digital campaigns spanning FB/ IG marketing campaigns, email marketing, SEO/SEM, re- marketing as well as other tactics as required.
Create and produce original content through the use of video, photography, graphic design, and knowledge curation across social media, the website, and e-newsletters/blogs and vlogs
Manage non-technical updates on the website.
Support partnerships with other breast cancer organizations.
Deliver monthly reports on tangible objectives, drawing on google analytics and other online analytics tools.
Report specifically on Key Performance Indicators such as: user engagement, sentiment, reputation and reach and influence.
Other marketing related work as needed.
Experience and Background
At least 2 –3 years’ professional experience in an online marketing or communications related capacity. (paid and/or volunteer)
Evidence of hands-on creative, design and production capabilities across video, multimedia and ‘print’.
Post-secondary education in marketing, business, communications and/or graphic design.
Strong command of digital/social marketing practices (owned, earned, paid media) as well as creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills.
Familiarity with non-profit/volunteer organizations, ideally in the health services sector.
Familiarity with MailChimp and Wordpress is required.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of partners and
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Independent, self-motivated team player is a must; polite and professional
Self-directed with leadership skills and solid volunteer experience.
