Housing Locator

Part-time (32 hours per week)

TERM Position (until March 31st, 2023)

We are currently seeking someone who has a passion for working with youth who are experiencing or at risk of becoming homeless. Operating from a Housing first and harm reduction approach; the Housing Locator is responsible for finding safe, secure and appropriate housing for youth. The Housing Locator will demonstrate a good understanding of the youth population and the gaps youth are currently experiencing as well as the housing market that can best meet their needs. The Housing Locator will establish solid and safe relationships with supported homes as well as landlords that are open to housing youth at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness.

The Housing Locator will work collaboratively with the team in order to support the case managers with locating affordable and sustainable housing for the youth that we serve. We are hoping that this individual will be able to create and maintain a healthy bank of housing options that the program can continue to use going forward.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, public speaking experience, knowledge of youth homelessness, community resources and experience in case management. Minimum Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in Human Services and 3 years direct work experience.
  • Have knowledge and connection to community and professional resources.
  • Experience with HMIS data would be preferred.
  • Have knowledge of diversity issues around culture, religion and other orientations.
  • Strong writing, organizational, program planning and interpersonal skills
  • Current standard First Aid Certification and Suicide Intervention Training
  • Valid Driver’s license and 2 million liability insurance coverage.
  • Must have a Child Welfare Intervention Check and Police Check (current within 6 months).
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19

Salary Range: $46,911.00 – $51,778.00
