TITLE:                            Human Resources Administrator

 

POSITION STATUS:    Temporary (8 weeks) (Non-Union)

 

SCHEDULE:                   Full Time (30 Hours)        

 

REPORTS TO:               Human Resources Director

                                                           

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Bob Rumball Canadian Centre of Excellence for the Deaf (BRCCED) is a multi-purpose, multi-program facility that functions as a community centre for the Deaf and as a non-profit charitable provider of services for the Deaf.  The organization exists to provide care and opportunities in a communication-rich environment that enhances the quality of life of those we serve.

 

Under the direction of the HR Director, the HR Administrator will play a key role in the HR department.  The successful candidate will provide a wide range of confidential administrative support to the human resources function.  This role is a great development opportunity for the ideal candidate who is up for the challenge. This position is on site in Toronto.

 

 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES

 

  • Ensure all HR files, forms, materials are updated and maintained in a secure and confidential manner
  • Participate in research, development and implementation of HR programs, policies, forms and initiatives
  • Promote effective employee relations with both union and non-union employees, with a focus on strong communications and interpersonal relationships
  • Provide administrative support for record collection, keeping, entry of data into the HRIS and general HR duties
  • Provide recruitment and onboarding support
  • Create and maintain all records and databases
  • Assist HR Associate with compiling and analyzing data
  • Assist Recruiter with recruitment - job posting, prescreens, interviews and reference checks
  • Respond to employee inquiries
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in Post-secondary education preferably in Human Resources Management
  • American Sign Language skills and understanding of Deaf culture an asset
  • Detail oriented and resourceful self- starter with demonstrated ability to take initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Strong time management, organizational, multi-tasking, analytical and problem solving skills required
  • Able to work both independently and effectively with other team members
  • Competency using Microsoft Office applications, familiarity with HRIS, LMS, ATS systems an asset
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Flexible and able to balance competing priorities
  • French/LSQ an asset

 

Canada Summer Jobs Requirements

  • Must be within 15 to 30 years of age (as per Canada Summer Jobs requirements)
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada with a valid Social Insurance Number
  • Must be able to commit to full 8 weeks at 30 hours per week
