About Us
We (Pathways Clubhouse) are a community based non-profit registered charity serving adults in the Lower Mainland who are living with mental health challenges. We are located in Richmond, BC and currently have over 300 active members, an average daily attendance of over 70, 25 employees, and are open every day of the year.

We pride ourselves in offering hope, encouragement and opportunities to our members. The services we presently offer include pre-vocational, employment, volunteering, housing, education, physical wellness, social, and public mental health education. Our unique model provides a barrier-free collegial environment where members and staff work together to accomplish the work of the Clubhouse.

POSITION SUMMARY

Facilitate the delivery of the Weekend Social and Recreation Program at Pathways Clubhouse.  Provide recreational and social opportunities to members in collaboration with the Program Manager, Food and Fun, Clubhouse Members and Staff.     

KEY DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS

Focused (Weekend Recreation Specific Specific)

• Responsible for the outreach, planning, and facilitation of weekend recreation and social activities
• Ensure members are provided with social opportunities
• Provide statistics for program activities and member participation
• Provide security and maintenance of the Clubhouse during weekend hours
• Ensure members are given the opportunity to volunteer in the facilitation of the program, lunch preparation, decision-making, and evaluation of the Weekend Social & Recreation Program

Programs and Tasks

• Ensure members are provided with unit work and social opportunities.
• Ensure members are given the opportunity to be involved in the decision-making, delivery of services and evaluation of the Clubhouse.
• Provide outreach and community support services to members
• Ensure that the Clubhouse meets Health and Safety requirements

Soft Skills

• Problem solving and prioritizing competing community needs
• Must be able to work collaboratively with low or no supervision
• Ability to resolve conflict with the use of de-escalation techniques

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Possesses or is actively working towards a University degree/diploma in the Social Services field, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Direct volunteer or work experience working with people with mental health diagnosis an asset
• A understanding of mental health conditions
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
• An excellent command of the English language; ability to speak Cantonese and/or Mandarin an asset
• Access to a reliable vehicle and possess a valid BC driver’s license an asset but not required for weekend position
• Current Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1 or equivalent and CPR.
• Current Food Safe Level 1
• A satisfactory completion of Criminal Records Check is required
