Location:         Remote, Access to Internet Required. *Must be located in Ontario, Canada*

Start date:     Flexible / June 2022

Hours:                31.5 hours per week

Number of weeks: 8 weeks, with possibility of extension, contingent on funding

Hourly rate of pay: $18.00

BGC Canada’s National Team provides support to our member Clubs, and leads in issues management, policy advocacy, and other critical work on behalf of Clubs. We advance the agenda for the children, youth and families served by member Clubs through critical work in the areas of public policy, research, program development, and Club support. The national team is also responsible for building the brand of BGC, fundraising, and managing public relations and communications for our cause.

 

 Job Description:

Through funding, critical programming, and other innovative ways, our donors help BGC Canada positively impact over 200,000 young people and their families across the country. This role will support BGC Canada’s corporate engagement team with the stewardship, coordination, and execution of key partnerships and donors. This is an exciting opportunity to learn and gain experience working with some of Canada’s premier companies/brands making an impact in the non-profit sector. This role will assist in all areas of fundraising including corporate, foundation, and individual giving.

Candidate should have excellent written and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently on multiple projects, and an interest in non-profit sector, and corporate social responsibility.

 

Summary of Tasks:

  • Provide on-going administrative support and development of support materials for Fund Development Team
  • Provide project management support for National initiatives.
  • Provide event management support for National events.
  • Perform Data entry and cleanup support as well as report generation in CRM database-Salesforce
  • Maintain relationships with colleagues across BGC Canada’s National office to stay informed of best practices, and to facilitate donor relations

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a communications, marketing, or fundraising management program and/or have a strong interest in corporate social responsibility, fund development, fundraising, and administration
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with a variety of key stakeholders including members, colleagues, volunteers, board of directors, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of design software such as Canva and Adobe Suite
  • Experience working in an association or not-for-profit environment is considered an asset
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Experience in events or project management is considered an asset
  • French skills considered an asset

 Eligibility:

  • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • Must be located in Ontario, Canada
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
  • Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
  • Satisfactory clearance under the Vulnerable Sector Screening Process
  • BGC Canada requires all employees to be fully vaccinated
