THE ROLE
We are currently seeking an Intake Administrator to support the community-based Urgent Response Service Program. This team will support children/youth with Autism and their families with an identified urgent need to prevent further escalation of risk or harm to a child or youth, other people or property based on the identification of key high-risk factors.

The URS Intake Administrator will act as the first point of contact for referrals via the OAP-URS by conducting intake and family support services to both new and existing clients. The Intake Administrator will conduct needs assessment, and assign families to a URS Respite Coordinator such that they can develop an Individualized Respite Plan, and assist families in navigating and coordinating service and supports in the respite sector. The Intake Administrator will also be responsible for managing the waitlist and liaising with stakeholders and community agencies.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITES (include but not limited to):
•Act as the first point of contact for families to complete a respite needs assessment with families which can include (but not limited to) the following:
•Provide initial consultation/triage to families and clients to assist them in identifying needs and appropriate services by helping them understand and make informed decisions about their respite options.
•Support families with new ASD or DD diagnoses to understand and navigate the system including resources and services available.
•Assess and determine appropriate respite services and funding based on eligibility
•Provide confidential administrative support to the RS.com team and supporting the to the OAP-URS
•Provide resources to families and clients
•Manage communication from partner agencies and stakeholders and disseminate to all relevant parties.
•Participate in team and staff meetings regularly and contribute to program development initiatives within the team and across the GCA. Work with and collaborate with URS staff to gather appropriate information relevant to family respite needs while participating in OAP-URS program.
•Liaise with rs.com staff to make appropriate referrals timely and efficiently.
•Other duties as assigned

 

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:
•College diploma in a relevant area (i.e., Administration, Developmental Disabilities, Behavioural/Social Sciences)
•Minimum 2 years’ work experience in a similar role
•Previous experience working with children with developmental disabilities and/or Autism
•Excellent verbal and writing communication skills
•Good data collection, filing and report writing skills
•Demonstrate strength as a team player
•Effective problem solving and judgement skills
•Superior organizational and time management skills
•Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
•Vulnerable Sector Screening
•Must be vaccinated against COVID-19

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:
•If working remotely, has a suitably furnished office that is secure and safe
•Frequent phone and computer work
•Seated for long periods of time
