The Human Resources Administrative Assistant is a full-time permanent position responsible for assisting the Human Resources team with the administrative tasks associated with the functions of recruitment, health and safety, training, onboarding, performance management, labour relations and other related programs.   They will also provide general administrative support including booking meetings, tracking and auditing of equipment and information as well as compliance with health and safety legislation and policies.

  • Provide a broad range of administrative support services to the human resources functions of the organization.
  • Assist with training, recruitment and health and safety programs. 
  • Update tracking lists and the HRI system.
  • Maintain electronic and paper-based filing systems.
  • Photocopy, file and distribute human resource materials.
  • Order supplies and maintain department credit card
  • Liaise with employees to provide letters of employment and facilitate other requests
  • Track, distribute and collect organizational property.
  • Organize meetings and sessions for the department 
  • Coordinate inquiries received through the general human resources email inbox 



The following education, professional memberships and knowledge are a requirement for this role:

  • A college diploma in human resources
  • One year of related experience
  • Proficiency in computers including an HRIS system
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • CHRP designation in progress
  • Ability to effectively work with people of diverse cultures and/or backgrounds
  • Well-developed organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement and adaptation to change.
  • Awareness of the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and within the community being served by the position.



While not required, preference will be given to candidates with the following: 

  • Knowledge of the cultural diversity of communities served by the agency.
  • Fluency in another language(s), including sign language.
  • Ability to work with new processes and people



As our work puts us in direct contact with youth and vulnerable persons in our community, with health and safety as a priority, the successful candidate must complete or obtain the following before commencement of their employment:

  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 or have received an exemption from the organization’s policy.
  • A Vulnerable Sector police check.
