Are you handy, resourceful, and skillful when it comes to performing repairs and renovations? Do you possess handyman skills in general building renovations, drywall, plumbing, and electrical repairs? If you have a passion for hands-on work and enjoy building and fixing things in a timely manner, the Maintenance Associate could be the next step in your career!

The Maintenance Associate is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and safety inspections of properties operated by e4c. Properties include apartments, shelters, group homes, and main offices within an inner-city environment where people may be experiencing homelessness, addictions, mental health, and low-income needs. You will ensure that properties are well maintained and don’t pose any physical risks to employees, residents, and other stakeholders.

What you bring to the team:
  • You possess a building operator’s certificate or other related trade certificates. Equivalency may be considered.
  • You bring 2+ years of experience in general building repairs.
  • You have prior experience working as a maintenance associate. You are comfortable tackling drywall, plumbing, electrical or painting projects.
  • You are able to operate small equipment including sweepers, lawnmowers, snow blowers, and small tractors.
  • You are able to use your personal vehicle to visit different sites to perform maintenance projects.
Important work you will do at e4c:
  • You will maintain all mechanical, electrical, heating, plumbing, and alarm systems.
  • You will perform major maintenance tasks like painting or renovations as well as minor household repairs.
  • You will get to know our buildings & homes! This role is key to ensuring the maintenance, repair & safety inspections of e4c spaces.
  • You will work within budgetary guidelines to purchase the required supplies.
  • You will work in collaboration with different stakeholders to ensure building issues & maintenance schedules and actioned.
