About the Position:

The Fundraising Assistant supports the logistics and execution of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation’s three annual signature events: Bridge to S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Gala, Walk with the Dragon, and Golf Tournament.  This position also performs administrative duties pertaining to the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation and supports the work of the Senior Manager. 

Reports to: Senior Manager

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Event Management 

  • Supports the execution of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation’s three annual signature events through providing various administrative services
  • Processes contributions, donations, and vendor payments
  • Tracks sponsor deliverables, event invitations, guest lists, and RSVPs
  • Assists with event activities such as: staging, volunteer management, audio-visual production, and silent auctions. 

 Administrative Support 

  • Performs administrative support duties (g. managing calendars, taking notes, travel arrangements, processing donations, financial tracking, reporting) pertaining to the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation
  • Provides administrative and secretarial assistance to the Senior Manager 
  • Performs other related duties as instructed by the Senior Manager

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Post-Secondary certification in fundraising, event planning, communications and/or related discipline
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in fundraising events (can be volunteering experience)
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Knowledge of event financial management is an asset
  • Knowledge of Donor Perfect and other fundraising databases is an asset

Job Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Second language knowledge is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and donor servicing skills
  • Excellent time management, and organizational skills
  • Excellent technical skills in MS Office and web-based applications (g. MS Teams and Zoom)
  • Ability to connect, and develop relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work with detailed and personal information

Other Requirements:

  • Criminal Record Check Required
  • Ability to work on evenings and weekends as required
  • Ability to travel to other S.U.C.C.E.S.S. service locations in Greater Vancouver
  • Ability to travel to event locations in Greater Vancouver
