MAJOR DUTIES

 

The Incumbent for this position will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist with business development and the achievement of CTI’s Strategic Plan.
  • Develop and drive new business opportunities across the market including both the non-profit and commercial sectors.
  • Arrange meetings with prospective new clients and promote CTI services through active listening to determine clients' training objectives.
  • Utilize the Maximizer CRM software to track client communication, leads, sales etc.
  • Nurture strong client relationships and look for organic growth opportunities.
  • Work independently with limited supervision with a focus on performance.
  • Build employer relationships through cold calling, networking and social media.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations addressing client needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Manage the sales process and successfully overcome setbacks and challenges.
  • Effectively manage a multitude of sales activities with ongoing re-prioritization and focus; and
  • Provide revenue projection on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • A college or university degree in a business marketing or sales discipline is preferred, or equivalent work/business experience.
  • Graduation from an educational program focusing on training and development or social work is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working within a non-profit organization.
  • Excellent selling, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Solid knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of customer service, as well as training/workshop design, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Above-average report writing and communication skills.
  • Experience utilizing an LMS and/or CRM is considered an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, sound judgement, demonstrated professionalism and a proven ability to develop rapport with multiple stakeholder groups

The Business Development Specialist will work collaboratively with the Training team and will be under the direct supervision of the Manager of Operations.

 

Although the majority of the work will take place on-site between 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, some evenings and/or weekend work may be required.  Salary Range: $45,000 to $50,000 based on experience.  A valid Ontario driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle for local travel is preferred. A Vulnerable Sector Screen (VSS) will be required. Benefits after probation.

 

As of November 1st, 2021, all CTI staff are required to be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine series, approved by Health Canada or the World Health Organization, as a condition of hire.
