Job Title: Admin Assistant - Community Programs

Location: NSC head office, North Vancouver

Job Status: Contract (May 9rd to August 26th for 16 weeks)
Rate of Pay: $20.50 per hour

Hours of Work per Week: 37.5 hours/week

Monday to Friday 8:30-4:30 pm

Requirements of the Position
• You must meet the Canada Summer Jobs Criteria to be eligible and considered for this position.

  • Applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International participants are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
  • Grade 12 graduate.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). Experience and/or working knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices is considered an asset.
  • Prior experience in the Community Living Sector is not required but is considered an asset. 
  • Must be willing to undergo a Criminal Record Check and submit a negative Tuberculosis screening test, Medical Fit to Work form and provide three professional references. ConneXions will cover the costs associated with the Criminal Record Check, Tuberculosis screening, Medical Fit to Work form fee and First Aid training if needed.

Primary Job Goal

Reporting to the Community Programs Manager, the Admin Assistant – Community Programs is responsible for providing administrative support to the operation of the Community Programs, including Home Sharing, Life Skills, Respite, and Employment programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative services and program support for Home Sharing and Life Skills programs
  • Document, organize and maintain electronic and paper filing systems
  • Participate in various projects, including learning and development, branding, and recruitment campaign
  • Engage in ongoing program and service quality improvement activities
  • Process monthly invoices and reports and collaborate with appropriate staff for reporting
  • Liaise and coordinate with other Community programs and services staff for special events, if necessary
