This role would involve working on an annual communications plan for the organization. The goal would be to create a strategy to increase older adult engagement, increase community engagement, extend our reach more significantly into all wards of the city, and increase awareness of older adult issues. This student would identify key communications opportunities, use analytics to identify and determine how to broaden our audience, establish key messages that will increase the engagement of older adults throughout all wards of the city of Ottawa. While heightening the effectiveness of our usual communications strategies such as our newsletter, additional opportunities could be considered including include mall booths, proactively seeking community presentations, creating PowerPoint presentations on key topics. Resources required (both human and financial) to carry out the recommendations would need to be considered.

 

The position is 35 hours per week for 8 weeks. English/French bilingual an asset. Remote applicants welcome.
