The Role:

As a Benefits and Employee Records Specialist at CLBC, you will provide specialized services and support to the People Services team within the People and Culture Division, and CLBC management, supervisors, and employees located across the province.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working collaboratively with a team of People Services Consultants (HRBPs), and other People Services Team members to provide support to CLBC management, supervisors, and employees located across the province
  • Learning BCGEU and BCNU collective agreements in order to be the subject matter expert on provisions regarding retirement, maternity/parental leaves, deferred salary leaves etc.
  • Communicating and responding to HR-related enquiries from management and staff
  • Calculating and processing salary increases, classification adjustments, substitution pay, severance, retirement allowances and other salary transactions as required
  • Accurately processing all employee lifecycle changes in PeopleSoft including new hires, position changes, internal staff movements, leaves, resignations, and retirements
  • Conducting data audits on a regular basis, including investigating and correcting discrepancies and maintaining the integrity of employee data in PeopleSoft
  • Liaising with CLBC's outsourced Payroll/Benefits Service Provider (Telus Employer Solutions) to resolve any pay/benefits issues as they arise

You will exercise extensive independence in making decisions and recommendations for pay, leave and benefit functions. Your work requires a high degree of tact and discretion as it includes managing employee personal information and ensuring timely responses to a large volume of sensitive inquiries and issues.


  • Successful completion of a diploma in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or related program, plus a minimum of two years of related Human Resources experience OR have an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Preference may be given to candidates with demonstrated experience within a government/unionized organization
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience using a complex human resource information system (HRIS) including transaction processing and manipulating data
