The Coordinator will help open and maintain the operations of the market. They will be the link between the vendors, the city officials and the market Board. They are responsible for the employees and the material necessary for the market to run efficiently.




  • Arrive onsite before the vendors to supervise and assist a team of 1 to 3 persons for the setup according to the market plan and stay for the duration of the market. Help the team dismantle and store the kiosks and clean the parking lot before leaving.
  • Install the market boards and other posters in the city.
  • Talk to vendors after the installation to verify that all is in order and answer questions or offer help if needed.
  • Collect or follow-up on the rental fees, sum up the received amounts, send the invoices to vendors.
  • Apply the sanitation and security guidelines applicable during the pandemic.
  • Organize and coordinate workshops or live music if pandemic rules allows for them.
  • Communicate and work with the city officials to have the materials for the market (metal barriers) and the security officers at the start and end of the market.
  • Transfer information, any administrative or new guidelines to the vendors from the Board of Directors, as needed.
  • Use the welcome kiosk to manage the market day operations and be accessible and visible to clients, vendors and employees.
  • Transfer and follow up on any new requests from vendors to the Board of Directors and advise the vendors or new applicant of the Board's decision.
  • Enroll new vendors if needed to maintain a full market and a balanced variety of products.
  • Complete the timesheet for all employees and send it to the designated person.
  • Work with the market's Communication Officer for any news or media to be published (especially pertaining to the Facebook page and the weekly newsletter).


Required skills

Bilingual, organized, resourceful, communication and people management skills, knowledge of Word, Excel, Google Drive and its applications (Sheets & Forms), and email tools.


Additional terms
This position is funded by Canada Summer Jobs. Selected candidates will be:

  1. between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  2. a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*; and
  3. is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
