The Sainte-Anne de Bellevue Farmers' Market is looking for a Communications/Marketing student to promote the market day through social networking.  


Responsibilities

 

The Social Network Officer will be responsible for managing and posting on the Farmers' Market social networks, including preparing a monthly report to analyze the efficiency of postings. The Officer will create and publish different types of content, photos and videos, following a publishing schedule.  

 

Tasks

  1. Social Networking
  • Gather and supply the information for the weekly online newsletter and promote it onsite for new subscribers;
  • Promote the market's events in the West Island community (including John Abbott and McGill students on campus) through social networks;
  • Be present on market day to create and publish pictures and stories;
  • Create weekly surveys on our socials and in person during market day;
  • Prepare short videos: vendor interviews, clients, special market events, market day;
  • Update the website's vendors' page, documents and photos;
  • Network and share our vendors postings and those of the community, as well as the local student campuses;
  • Manage photos, videos and documents on the cloud.

  1. Analysis
  • Write a weekly report collating all the data necessary to evaluate the performance of each social network used (visits, shares, likes, comments, etc.) and propose appropriate changes;
  • Create a monthly summary of the survey results done online and onsite.

 

Required Skills

Bilingual. Have initiative, creativity and flexibility. Independent but works well in a team. Can multitask. Can set priorities. Thorough, organized and disciplined. Have strong communication skills.

 

Knowledge of social networks: Mailchimp, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Wordpress and others. Photo and video editor software. Google Drive, Sheets and Excel and Word. Interest in the food industry an asset.

This position is funded by Canada Summer Jobs. Selected candidate:

  1. is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  2. is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*; and
  3. is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
