To safely perform a pickup and delivery schedule of goods from donors and for internal distribution; and to facilitate the logistical needs of Hope Mission.
Accommodate and arrange for scheduled and additional pick ups as required
Understand and follow traffic rules and regulations, as well as follow Hope Mission policy and procedures
Responsible for the safe operation of the fleet of Hope Mission vehicles
Efficient handling of various paperwork such as the manifest, inspection forms and invoices (etc.)
Timely reporting of all vehicle accidents/incidents
Assist with the receiving and putting away of goods
To safely operate conveyance equipment as per design & intent
To route all stops with precision bearing in mind time restrictions
To communicate with customers and manager whenever changes to timetable or service must occur
Present oneself in a professional manner in conduct as well as appearance
Responsible of cleaning the interior and exterior of the fleet of vehicles as time permits
Respond effectively to daytime emergencies as requested
Defer approval of additional assignments to management
Maintain a good personal driving record
Willingness to assist with the loading and unloading of various furnishings or equipment as requested.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Listen to and liaison with other departments
Keeping areas free of all potential hazards
To be effective in sharing necessary information and being courteous to clients and staff
Assist and attend special events organized by Hope Mission.
Check manifest and execute regular pickup and delivery route
Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
Perform all duties in a safe manner and soliciting assistance when
Miscellaneous duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Ability to work as a team player
Must be physically fit, no issues with standing and able to lift average of 30-50 lbs.
Completion of high school.
Related training or work experience.
Full Class 5 Drivers License is required.
Clean driving record.
Comfortable working in the inner city.
Ability to Communicate effectively with other employees.
Conflict resolution skills
Administrative and organizational abilities.
Self-management skills

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on a full-time basis.
Able to provide a clean Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
A letter of reference from a ministry or church is an asset
Adherence Hope Mission’s Policies and Procedures.
SALARY: $17.5 per hour (first 3 months) increasing to $18.00 per hour after probation.
Excellent Manulife Health and Dental Benefits (after 3 month probation)
HOURS: 40 hours per week,
Weekly Schedule determined by the Food Services Manager.
