THIS MOMENT, THIS POSITION

With new and ambitious strategic directions for 2022-2025, the QEII Foundation is seeking a Manager, Strategic Initiatives, to bring a visionary roadmap to life that embodies unparalleled and long-term support for health care in Nova Scotia.

The Manager, Strategic Initiatives is a new position and will report to the President & CEO and represent the Office of the President & CEO to internal and external partners. By working closely with those accountable for the QEII Foundation’s goals, the ideal candidate will manage and facilitate the implementation, tracking and reporting of the QEII’s performance and growth.

As a strong guide and influencer, this Manager will take ownership of setting a clear direction to meet organizational goals and inspire action across teams. They will relay sound advice to the executive leadership team based on their detailed analysis and recommendations. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the implementation of the strategic plan, including strong organization of action plans and monitoring and reporting of goals, timelines and KPIs. 
• Proactively advance the development and approval of a pipeline of compelling funding priorities aligned with the ‘We Are’ campaign. 
• Support the governance activities of the Foundation including the Board’s and related committees’ annual workplans, governance policies, and bylaw alignment.
• Support the activities of the Government & Stakeholder Engagement Committee of the Board of Directors in collaboration with the President & CEO and the VP Communications and Marketing. 
• As required, support the VP Administration & CFO with requirements for the Imagine Canada accreditation, specifically as it relates to policy development and Board of Directors and governance committee involvement.
• Provide direction to and support of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy.
• Prepare an annual workplan, convene meetings of, and coordinate content and agendas for regular Foundation senior management meetings.
• Prepare meeting materials, including briefing documents, reports, and presentations on behalf of the President & CEO.
• Establish working relationships across the Foundation and with key stakeholders at Nova Scotia Health, the QEII Health Sciences Centre and others. 
• Work collaboratively across the Foundation and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders to ensure that diverse perspectives are meaningfully included. 
• Demonstrate considerable ability to influence others, including those who are senior level through assigning, checking and maintaining workflow.
• Provide advice on policies and practices to senior supervisors. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• A university degree in public administration, political science, and/or administration is preferred.
• 3 to 8 years of related work experience is considered an asset.
• Require technical and professional skills including project management; problem-solving; stakeholder relations; and governance
• Can work independently while guided by broad policies and general objectives.
• Can conduct analytical, investigative research work to help inform decisions that directly impact the organization’s strategic plan.

THE PACKAGE

Annual Salary: $86,000 - $100,000
