Responsibilities and abilities

  • Promote and actively sell memberships to potential members.
  • Provide accurate and up to date program registration and information.
  • Be efficient, highly organized and pay attention to detail.
  • Completing telephone sales calls to potential members.
  • Accurately and swiftly handle sales transactions.
  • Report on statistics as required or requested.
  • Supports communication pieces as required.
  • Monitors cash and maintains float, oversees filing and invoicing community partners.
  • Check and correct paperwork; follow up with staff as necessary.
  • Updates call list and tracks phone calls.
  • Strives to stay up to date with information regarding current activities, priorities, and events occurring in the facility.
  • Coordinates with the Centre Manager to evaluate services on an ongoing basis, respond to emerging needs, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Performs other assigned or related duties to Membership Services.


  • Competency working with excel spreadsheets and other data collection tools.
  • Experience working with Active Net Registration system is an asset.
  • A combination of experience and training related to sales and services.
  • Experience training staff and coaching performance.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Current Occupational first aid and CPR certification.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Physical ability to do the duties required.

There is an expectation that the Membership Administrator will attend staff meetings, planning sessions and training events as required.

Other related duties as directed by direct supervisor or another member of the YMCA Senior Leadership team.
