THE ROLE

The Language Services Coordinator works closely with the Manager of Language Services and Coordinators to provide support and supervision to teaching staff, administrative staff, and students in LINC and EAL evening programs.

The role will develop and maintain programs which are compatible with agency and department mission, vision, and goals.

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

 

Administration

  • Work in partnership with the team to recruit, on-board, train, and coordinate new teachers and substitute teachers.
  • Work with administrative assistant to ensure that student intake, documentation and reporting is accurate and updated.
  • Support with writing program proposals and reports.
  • Coordinate accurate documentation and reporting of off-site locations.
  • Organize professional development opportunities for LINC staff.
  • Oversee and coordinate evening operations.

Educational Support

  • Support teachers with classroom management and curriculum development; conduct periodic needs assessments with students.
  • Provide technical support to learners in virtual classes.
  • Supervise the ongoing maintenance of computer lab and the implementation of chrome books in the classroom.

Leadership

  • Supervise ECALA programs and outreach centres.
  • Assist Manager of Language Services with employee performance reviews.
  • In collaboration with Communications team, directs the promotion of Language Services classes (including posters, brochures, and website).
  • Actively contributes the Extended Leadership team (ELT) and EMCN committees’ meetings as designated.

 

SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Successful completion of post-secondary degree in related field of study and 2 years experience, equivalencies considered.
  • TESL Canada or ATESL Certified.
  • 2 years experience the field of adult education and previous supervisory experience are definite assets.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

POSITION STATUS: Part-Time, Evening. This role is required to work on-site.
