Summer Student, Building & Maintenance Worker

The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure, we are looking for a reliable Facilities Maintenance Worker to assist the facilities staff with overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations and perform essential upkeep tasks throughout our facility.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

This position is responsible to assist and support the department with a variety of functions including :

• Assisting in handling basic repairs and maintenance
• Pick up, receive, and restock all areas with the required supplies
• Assist the facilities crew with daily tasks
• Assist facilities crew in conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment’s
• Follow safe working practices and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required.
• Assist in monitoring inventory and order supplies
• Assist in maintain maintenance records, receipts and ensuring proper follow-up of all maintenance contracts as directed by Manager of Infrastructure

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in building/maintenance operations would be considered an asset
• Experience with power and hand tools would be considered an asset
• Training in CPR/First Aide would be considered an asset

Skills and Abilities

As the ideal candidate, you have the ability to multi-task and can work independently as needed.  You are professional and positive with strong communication and customer service skills. 

As you will be working in a facility with animals such as dogs, cats, rabbits etc., you have a passion for animals and the customers we serve.

Compensation/Hours

Compensation: $15:00 an hour

Hours: 40 hours a week
