Job Overview
CFCC is seeking a highly-motivated, effective, organized person with a solid background in partnership and community development, food insecurity programs and/or knowledge of food security issues, as well as project management, to join our tightly-knit, collaborative team. We are looking for someone who is equally excited by the big picture version of what we are doing and by the details of what is required to make it happen, as well as working collaboratively with a dynamic and interdisciplinary team within CFCC and with our partners.  
The Manager of Partnership Development liaises with Community Food Centre (CFC) sites across the country and will act as a conduit for the flow of information and resources between the sites and CFCC.  They must be analytical, be an excellent communicator, have strong administrative skills, and be strategic critical thinkers who are prepared to listen, coach, problem-solve and act as knowledge brokers.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to develop mutually respectful relationships, and partnerships. This role involves working remotely and at a distance from our partners, and therefore will involve skill and enthusiasm for building relationships virtually.  
  • Develop, manage and maintain strong relationships with partner Community Food Centres (CFCs), working most closely with a portfolio of five to seven CFCs
  • Collaborate with partnership management team to develop, implement and oversee systems and procedures to grow and support partner relationships (including selection, application, agreement, program and financial reporting, collaboration and review process)
  • Work from a strengths-based, community development, capacity building and inclusive approach with assigned partner CFC sites, community partners, potential applicants and declined applicants, and active grantees
  • In collaboration with the Partnership team, engage in deeper analysis and learning to better understand thematic issues and identify emerging trends
  • Oversee a grants portfolio for assigned partner CFC sites - which  includes reviewing proposals and budgets, drafting agreements and grant letters, while tracking funding, reviewing and following up on reports, both narrative and financial reports, and managing on going communication
  • Work with the Development team liaison to coordinate donor stewardship responsibilities as appropriate
  • Work with CFC  partner sites to develop and review their annual operations plan and budget
  • Use regular online meetings, reports and annual review processes to work with assigned partner sites to reach their program goals, financial targets, build capacity and to meet CFCC operating standards
  • Facilitate and strengthen network development and collaboration opportunities between CFC partners, and identify opportunities for mentorship and leadership within CFCC’s networks
  • Connect partners with CFCC materials and resources to support effective development of programs,  as well as identifying new supports or resources, as required
  • Collaborate with CFCC departments to support CFCC’s strategic priorities, and special projects (such as national campaigns, fundraising, etc.)
  • Facilitate interdepartmental/interdisciplinary communication on collaborative projects, working with Evaluation, Knowledge Exchange, Policy, Communications and Development/Fundraising departments within CFCC so that each partner’s needs are communicated
  • Contribute to, facilitate and lead the development of resources, special projects, program development, orientation and education sessions, and/ or events which support learning and networking for partner sites
  • Track, analyze and respond to inquiries and requests for information from potential partner sites and community organizations
  • Contribute to broader team work on administration, communications, evaluation, fundraising and budgets
  • Travel to partner sites is required periodically (under normal circumstances)
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
  • 5+ years of project management experience in community-based / non-profit organizations, or equivalent experience including demonstrated ability to understand and monitor organizational budgets, financial statements and reports
  • Demonstrated experience with program planning, capacity building and evaluation, ideally with subject matter expertise in one or more areas of community food programming
  • Understanding of issues related to food insecurity and poverty
  • University degree in a related area , or equivalent experience - examples include (but are not limited to) Social Work, Community Development, Adult Education, Indigenous Studies, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience putting equity and inclusion principles into practice, as well as a commitment to advancing social justice
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, negotiation) along with change management, asset-based coaching, and/or motivational interviewing skills
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, research and problem solving skills with the ability to be flexible and adaptable when working with partners
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  •  Proficiency in both English and French would be an asset
  • Experience and training around the principles of adult learning would be an asset
  • Experience in a grants management role would be an asset
