As Maintenance Coordinator, you will provide routine daily and preventative maintenance, ensure health and safety requirements are met, coordinate with contractors, organize required facilities inspections licensing requirements and security for two of our locations.
You will assist in the assembly and installation of furniture, movement of furniture, installation of materials on to walls, removal of surplus furniture and other large waste and procure materials and supplies as required. You will create and retain required maintenance logs and inspection records. Additionally, you will respond to maintenance support tickets submitted through the CFS Help Desk platform.
At our Counselling Centre location, you will maintain the archive/storage rooms, coordinate the alarm security including door alarms and panic buttons, key doors and office furniture, repair and replace lighting and maintain appliances.
At our St. Martin’s Manor location, you will provide both routine maintenance and preventative maintenance to ensure that the facility is maintained in good working order. This includes ensuring the facility is safe and free of hazards including but not limited to ensuring safe and adequate storage of materials, safe labelling and markings of materials and potential dangers, safe lighting in interior and exterior spaces, pathways free of trip and fall hazards, and keep the exits in the building clear. Additionally, you will coordinate all regular outside maintenance contracts including heating, plumbing, electrical, security system, snow removal, and any other facilities contracts that CFS may enter into including contractor work, acquiring quotes, and negotiating prices and terms of contracts.
You will be responsible for coordinating all inspections related to the facility and equipment, and ensure that licensing requirements are met. Managing the alarm security for the building, you will respond to alarm events and coordinate all issues related to fire safety, including but not limited to fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and fire exits. You will perform outdoor maintenance, including but not limited to ensuring external walkways are clear of debris, snow and ice, lawn cutting and landscaping, repairs to walking surfaces, and minor repairs to the roof, maintain the appliances and the lift and remove waste. In addition, you will manage keys for doors and office furniture, assess the building and equipment for wear and tear and proactively alert the Manager of Operations of possible risks of failure. Additionally, you will support the Manager of Operations in capital and maintenance planning in the near and longer terms (1-5 years), and ensure such plans are implemented.
This position requires a highly motivated and self-directed professional with a high school diploma or recognized equivalent and six months of related experience. Must be able to work independently and have the ability to use appropriate tools/materials and equipment common to the building. Must be able to meet physical demands of the position.
You excel in ethics, professional standards, outstanding communication skills, and understanding responsibility regarding confidentiality and boundaries. You are proficient at timely and accurate documentation. You are flexible to work evenings and weekends and travel between locations using your own vehicle.
