Regular full-time position at 35 hours per week starting as soon as possible
The position provides overarching support to all programs within the Employment Division. Enhances the organization’s engagement with the employer community through coordination of the organization’s employer-related initiatives and Employer Relations Specialists (ERS) staff connected to all employment programs. Connects directly with employers, industry associations, and the like to maintain and cultivate employer and sector partnerships.
Reporting to: Associate Director – Career Services
Establishes contacts with new employers, maintains and develops strong relationships with all employer contacts. Connects with business community partners (e.g., Chambers of Commerce) in all areas where our offices are located in order to gather such information as to employment opportunities.
Develops and coordinates the implementation of a streamlined employer-client job matching service to facilitate timely, efficient job referrals and matching in support of all employment programs.
As an identified knowledge expert is responsible for keeping current on labour market trends. Works in collaboration with all Employer Relations Specialists to facilitate the coordinated development and maintenance of a network of resources and employers to ensure the availability of suitable, quality jobs for clients.
Coordinates the development and implementation of employer strategies and activities.
Coordinates, conducts and delivers presentations to employers and employer groups in support of client marketing activities.
Plans and executes employer-related events. Coordinates staff in the planning and delivery of employer networking sessions, job fairs, industry panels, trade talks, and employer exhibits.
Maintains, revises, and updates Employer & Partner external contacts on NewTrack database.
Collects data and reports to the Division Manager on the performance management of all employment programs according to an established schedule or as requested by the Division Manager.
Conducts Labour Market research. Compiles data and develops recommendations to the Division Manager and Director for consideration. Assists with proposals by contacting employer/partner and association letter of support.
Deploys and facilitates regular and annual training for ERS staff and is responsible for facilitating the training and onboarding of new ERS staff.
Supports ERS staff by providing leads and case conferencing with the team on a monthly basis.
Represents the Employment Program of ISSofBC on key industry associate tables and connects with key partners such as IEC-BC.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a Sales & Marketing background supplemented by one (1) year of recent related experience OR and the equivalent combination of training and experience acceptable to the employer. Experience in building business accounts/relationships is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral English.
Ability to audit program procedures to ensure compliance with funder guidelines.
Demonstrated knowledge of the labour market, including issues and trends especially those related to immigrants and/or clients who are skilled professionals.
Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite.
Service-oriented with a demonstrated willingness to help the department and the organization achieve desired objectives and targets.
Possession of and the ability to maintain a clear provincial criminal record check.
Ability to travel to other ISSofBC locations as required.
Ability to carry out the duties of the position.
